Mapping the Microbiome

We are all familiar with the terms “from the gut” and “gut feelings.”

A growing body of scientific study is beginning to shed more light on the gut microbiome, the huge community of microorganisms that live in our digestive tract. The research is revealing that this community of microbial cells is not only essential to our physical health, but to our mood health as well. It’s more proof that mind and body are inextricably one. The growing body of research and knowledge of the microbiome should yield important breakthroughs. It’s an exciting time to keep track of this field.
