An Exciting Milestone for Weight-Inclusive Care and Dietetics Education!

The Weight-Inclusive Toolkit is here!

After more than five years of intentional development and the contributions of over 100 people with lived and professional experience, the Weight-Inclusive Toolkit from the Weight-Inclusive Toolkit Initiative (WITI) has officially been released.

This is the first standardized weight-inclusive curriculum in the history of Nutrition and Dietetics Education – and it is being offered at no cost to dietetics and health professional educators, researchers, registered dietitians, preceptors, students, interns, other health professionals, and community members.

We are especially proud to recognize Nicole Patience and Lisa Pearl for their contributions to this important initiative, alongside many providers, educators, researchers, and other contributors whose expertise, lived experience, thoughtful review, and commitment helped bring this extraordinary resource to life.

The toolkit includes lectures, webinars, and case studies already mapped to the new ACEND 2027 accreditation standards, making it easier for educators and preceptors to integrate weight-inclusive principles into their curricula and training.

The significance of this work goes far beyond a new educational resource. It represents an important step toward ensuring that future generations of nutrition professionals receive meaningful education in weight-inclusive, equitable, and respectful care from the very beginning of their training.
